On the second day of the main stage of Fada’eeyan-e Harim-e Velayat 7 military drills (Devotees of Guardianship), fighter-bombers belonging to Islamic Republic of Iran’s Air Force (IRIAF) successfully managed to destroy land targets by escaping from enemy radars.
The spokesman for the large-scale event General Massoud Rouzkhosh made the announcement saying “after carrying out intercept and strike missions against predetermined positions by F-5 and MiG-29 fighter jets, the Su-24 Strategic Bomber, which was equipped by a variety of optimized missiles, successfully destroyed ground targets.
The official highlighted that ultra-light bombers and airborne drones had been used in order to identify and destroy simulated large-scale targets for ultimate attack on the enemy.
Later into the military exercise, Karrar unmanned combat air vehicle produced for the military of Iran attacked and destroyed ground targets using self-propelled precision-guided missiles.
Moreover, McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II twin-engine, all-weather, long-range supersonic jet interceptor and fighter-bombers used Ghassed, a highly accurate rocket-boosted smart bomb developed by Iran, to successfully destroy targets.
Karrar long-range drone has a range of 1,000 kilometres and can carry two 115 kilograms bombs, or a precision-guided munition of 227 kilograms. The Karrar can also carry four Kowsar light anti-ship missiles or one Nasr-1 anti-ship missile. The Karrar unmanned combat air vehicle is 4 metres long and is powered by a turbojet engine, giving a top speed of 900 kilometres per hour. The Karrar uses a rocket assist system to assist in take off and is recovered by parachute.
